These day tours run all year and all days of the week, depending on availability. Programs run only with a minimum of 2 participants and a maxiumu of 6, although special requests from individuals and larger groups will be considered. Prices quoted are per person and will include the complete day package, transport and a personal bi-lingual guide. These day programs also typically include a light lunch or, where part of an extended program, a more substantial meal. The guide will be available for consultation and assistance for the entire duration of each program. Of course, each of these day tours may also be combined over several days to make up a more extended program.
The following will give some indication of the possible "day tour" programs and inclusions but of course, there are many more options:
Roman Trails - includes a visit to the Roman ruins at Carsulae that run along the ancient via Flaminia, the Roman bridge at Fonnaia, the Christian catacombs and the wonderfully simple Roman facade of the church of Santa Maria in Pantano.

Specialist Wine Tastings - there are a range of wine tastings that may or may not include a short course with a sommelier (wine expert) that includes an explanation of the various wines of the region, especially the famed Orvieto Classico, the ambrosial Sagrantino, Grechetto and many others. These may be conducted in local venues in Orvieto or include selected visits to several prestigious vineyards within the region.

Orvieto with Taste - there may be a simple guided tour of this fascinating Medieval/Renaissance city with visits to various sites within the city including the extensive underground caves, but there are also many options of including a guided tour of the city with a number of Umbrian tastings. Tastings depend on preferences of each group but may include wine, oil, cheeses, honey and other local produce, all of the highest quality. This may also include cooking class for part of the day or a full-days' cooking class based on the Umbrian Table.

Land of the Saints - both the Benedictines and the Franciscans have left some of the most fascinating trails across the length and breadth of the region of Umbria. Day tours may follow one or other itinerary and may include visits to one of more of a number of centres such as Orvieto, Assisi, Norcia, Spoleto, Spello, Foligno, amongst others.

Etruscan Trails - no other inhabitant has made such a lasting and profound impact on this land nor left as many remains. Orvieto itself is a living archaeoligical site and the wonders spread far beyond the walls into the surrounding regions. Visits may be selected from within Orvieto to places such as Vulci and Tarquinia, amongst others.

Orvieto from Rome - this day trip from Rome will include all that this wonderful city has to offer as well as a full day's guided assistance that begins with a pick up from the station in Orvieto. It may also include one overnight stay.

These are just a few suggestions that may be considered for a single day's guided theme. For further information or to request a full catalogue, please get in touch with Judith (
