Tour Overview . . .

This is a fabulous, fully escorted, small group tour. It takes place from March 16th - 29th 2020. It promises an amazing array of experiences from hands-on cooking classes by professionals, tastings of local produce and wine while meeting the producers, hunting for those magical black truffles, guided walks and talks and visits to special places - and so much more. Your tour host will guide you through all phases of this experience and introduce you to all venues, beginning in the stunning Etruscan/Medieval town of Orvieto with excursions in the nearby countryside, to her most beloved Venice, onto the mesmerising city of Naples with a day trip to the historic Phlaegrean Fields, finishing in the ever "eterna" that is Rome. What an incredible journey - don't miss out. Bookings are happening right NOW . . .
The true secret of success in these tours lies in keeping it local, meeting real artisans at work, coming to an understanding of traditions and what it means to strive to keep those traditions alive - and relax and have fun along the way with a group of like minded people. And, of course, in having all your day by day activities carefully planned so that you can move at a comfortable pace and trust in the guidance of your experienced host who accompanies the group from beginning to end.
While this is a program packed with culinary and many other delights, there is ample time to allow each individual to discover this amazing peninsula at their own pace. With 4 nights in the stunning Etruscan/Medieval town of Orvieto, 4 in Venice, 3 in Naples and 2 in Rome there are so many opportunities to get to know this amazing peninsula. As well as the cooking classes there are many other fascinating additions to ensure a well-rounded insight into Italian culture and traditions. And, you are well looked after at every stage of the program.

Accommodation is provided as TWIN SHARE (private bathrooms). In Orvieto we stay in a beautiful oasis of a restored 14thC convent with an enclosed private garden, in the ancient centre. In Venice we choose another of our favourites, a “Religious House of Hospitality” in the tranquil arts precinct with its own beautiful garden spaces for that quiet retreat. In Naples it is a perfectly located 5th century palazzo in the historic centre, close to everything we need. Rome is also perfectly located between Pantheon and Piazza Navona, sitting atop the ancient site of the Baths of Agrippa. Address/locations will be provided once bookings have been completed.
Included in the program are 13 nights' accommodation as TWIN share (Orvieto x4, Venice x4, Naples x3, Rome x2); 3 hands-on cooking classes plus many "tastings;" a truffle hunt, 2 winery visits.
