Every accommodation listing comes with our own seal of approval, according to our exacting standards, with an absolute guarantee that we know the accommodation (and the owner) through personal inspection and/or experience. While we specialise in bookings in and around our home-base of ORVIETO and UMBRIA we do still work with a few, very select hotels, apartments and monasteries in ROME, FLORENCE, VENICE and SORRENTO. These too come with our personal rating from first-hand experience gleaned over many years, both in booking for clients and group programs as well as choosing to stay in these places ourselves.
Descriptions provided for our venues will ALWAYS be relevant, practical and honest AND, when you book accommodation with us, you will ALWAYS have our personal contact number should you need help while in residence.

apartments

Our self-catering apartments are all located “on the rock” of Orvieto, conveniently located to all services within the city. All are tastefully furnished and provided with every comfort, some with full-sized kitchens and dining areas, others with more "kitchenette" facilities though more than adequate for holiday catering. They range from accommodation for individuals (like some of our “bed-sits”) up to 6 people and more in some venues. Most offer wifi internet, all have televisions and hairdryers amongst other things.

villas

Villas and farmhouses, with a pool, are located in the countryside and are typically finely restored and furnished and surrounded by green lawns, olive groves and vines. They offer the greatest peace to those who seek a vacation with complete privacy and total relaxation. Different venues can accommodate a small family group up to a much larger group of families and/or friends. A car is required for these residences.

agriturismo

Umbria and the agriturismo (or farm stay) are surely an inseparable duo. Our properties are located in the quiet of the countryside a few kilometres from Orvieto. The kitchens present typical and genuine regional dishes and wines from the best local cellars. Some offer individual apartments within the complex and have a swimming pool for the private use of guests. Some even have fully equipped gymnasiums or workout rooms. One is set amongst olive groves, 10 minutes from Orvieto, and offers 5 separate apartments, all self-contained, with common areas, garden, swimming pool and spa, all fenced in for complete security for children and a commercial kitchen that can be operated for special celebrations for family and friends.

Rome, Florence, Venice & Sorrento

In ROME we offer either of 2-4* hotels right in the ancient centre, 5 minutes from Pantheon and 10 from the Campidoglio and the Piazza Venezia.

In FLORENCE we use 2 hotels close to Piazza Santa Maria Novella, both high 4* star rating; one also offers 5* suites, the other also offers lower cost apartments. Both are 5 minutes from the station and close to everything in the centre.
In VENICE we love 1 particular hotel, from the thousands on offer, 3 minutes from Piazza San Marco and the San Zaccariah vaporetto stop. This hotel offers great, budget rooms as well as larger rooms and suites and apartments.
For SORRENTO, we use a great, very charactersitic "boutique" hotel just off the main shopping precinct, 5 minutes from the harbour. It offers a wonderful array of rooms, a rooftop terrace and a whole range of tourist services.

hotels

The hotels we work with in Orvieto are all located “on the rock,” in the historical centre or just a few steps from the centre of town, close to all the most important monuments. They range from 3 to 5 * ratings, some with larger suites and spa baths.
All offer wireless internet, Sky TV and a personal safe in the room and all have a bar for the use of guests. Parking is usually provided, some at an extra cost. Breakfasts are always included.

luxury


Period/luxury residences are typically in the country side and have been restored with care and attention to detail, often including antique furniture. Many are used as large, luxury hotels and typically include more exclusive services and spas. Guests usually need their own car to access these places but they offer a very special getaway for those “in the know” who want to be pampered and looked after without worrying about anything.

bed &breakfast

Our B&Bs are typically to be found in the quiet medieval streets of the ancient centre of Orvieto, always just a few steps from the centre. They are welcoming and tastefully furnished with management undertaken personally by the owners. Again, we know these venues very well and choose them not only because of how they look and the services they offer but also because of the owners who are warm, generous people intent on making your stay a special one, comfortable, private and secure. All have private on-suite facilities. They typically provide a fresh breakfast each morning, sometimes delivered to your room. Some are 4-5* rating offering extra luxury in the form of large rooms, antique furniture, a balcony and spa bath, all with a guranteee of cleanliness, privacy and security.

monastery / convent

There is a monastery and convent in Orvieto “on the rock,” both offering a very good standard of accommodation for individuals, couples and families. Rooms are typically more austere than other types of accommodation but all are furnished comfortably and all offer en-suite bathrooms.
Typically, a simple breakfast is provided daily and, in both cases, guests have use of the  beautiful gardens. The convent also offers the option of full or half board. The monastery provides complementary parking.

car hire

For assistance with renting a car locally or from Australia, we can help you make the arrangments you need. Orvieto can be used as a drop-off or pick-up point for Avis & Hertz. For longer term rentals, it is possible to hire a car directly fom Orvieto but only if Orvieto is both the pick-up and drop-off point
